YETU
GALLERY
Role: Creative Director, Brand Designer
Year: 2022 - 2023
Yetu is a contemporary art gallery based in Kinshasa, created in partnership with the National Museum of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Rooted in the spirit of collaboration and cultural exchange, the gallery serves as a platform for dialogue between local and global contemporary art communities.
I was commissioned to develop the brand identity for the space. A system that would hold both modernity and heritage, clarity and soul.
The name Yetu, meaning ours in Swahili, became the conceptual foundation for the design.
The logo features interwoven lines that speak to unity, ownership, and connection — echoing the gallery’s mission to bring together diverse artistic voices within a shared cultural space. The visual identity extends across digital and physical applications, supporting Yetu’s role as both a contemporary institution and a site for collective belonging.
