09. Lidl UK // Digital Design
Retailer Lidl GB has a seasonal magazine which Walstead, Rhapsody’s sister company, prints. It’s an effective marketing tool, but Lidl GB wanted to offer its readers a digital version too. The digital solution needed to enhance the reading experience, rather than be a copy-and-paste replica of the print publication.
CONCEPT
In the project to create a digital version of Lidl GB's seasonal magazine, I focused on enhancing the reader's experience. I started by researching our target audience to understand their preferences. Incorporating interactive elements like clickable links and embedded videos to make the content more engaging. Ensuring the magazine was fully responsive was crucial, so it looked great on any device. Throughout the process, I maintained Lidl’s brand identity, using their colors and typography consistently.

The illustration “Mindjer Pólon” seeks to convey the idea of the Guinean woman as the central focus in the Guinean community. She is intrinsically connected with nature (like the Pólon tree) that nourishes and strengthens her. Forming a cycle of constant life and renewal. Celebrating femininity in its fullness, highlighting her beauty, grace, and power, emphasizing the importance of the elements around her that complete and multiply her.
